Escalating tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel have spilled into the Gulf, leaving one person dead and at least 11 others injured after drone and missile activity disrupted major airports in the United Arab Emirates.
Authorities confirmed that a drone targeting Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi was intercepted. However, falling debris from the interception killed one person and injured seven others.
In Dubai, damage was reported at Dubai International Airport (DXB) — the world’s busiest airport by international passenger traffic — where four staff members were injured during what officials described as an “incident” linked to aerial interception activity.

Dubai International Airport confirmed that four staff members were injured after debris from an aerial interception caused damage within airport grounds.
Thousands of flights were grounded or rerouted, creating one of the most serious aviation disruptions in the region since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fires Reported at Jebel Ali Port and Luxury Hotels
Debris from intercepted projectiles triggered a fire at a berth in Jebel Ali Port, one of the world’s busiest shipping hubs.
Video footage circulating online also showed smoke rising from Palm Jumeirah, while authorities confirmed a minor fire on the outer façade of the Burj Al Arab hotel caused by falling debris.
